Malone Road sits in Mount Wellington, close to Sylvia Park, the Panmure interchange and the southern motorway. This was one of the larger public housing developments of its year, and the specification it was held to reflects that - durable materials, careful detailing and a finish standard set well above the minimum. Vertical timber-look battens and brick bases give the buildings texture and a residential feel rather than an institutional one. Careful budget control kept the quality intact across every unit on the site.
